San Jose and 2 weeks...

It's nearly 4:00 in the morning and I am still awake. I am taking this opportunity to slip in one entry which I had not done so again and again for many times. I am now in San Jose, California. San Jose is a Spanish name and it is pronnounced as San Ho-Seh. I will be here for two weeks. I wonder what my wife is doing back in Tanah Melayu?

I guess she is at her usual playing Facebook games, eat her usual take-away dinner, watch her favorite movies or dramas and lazying around with her towel turban around her wet head. My work will start this coming Monday at IDT US. Well, to begin with, I arrived at San Francisco after 12 hours long haul flight from Hong Kong International Airport. There I saw many, many and many Indians. Sat next to me throughout the damn flight was a young Indian chap.

When I saw so many Indians at Gate 4, I started to doubt whether my ticket is really going to San Francisco. Probably, that Airbus will fly to Bangalore or Mumbai once they switch off the lights in the middle of the flight. Anyhow, the flight is full of Indians. Period. Cathay had to serve them first because they are vegetarians. Oh, Cathay's air steward's service kind of messy and I don't like their attitude; very fake. I still very much love MAS.

Throughout my 12 hours flight, my seat sucks because I won't recline like any other usual flight seats. It pushed its seating forward so you sat slouch with your balls move forward. Damn, I hate those type of seats. I will endure it again when I will fly back on the 23rd April. On the overall, I just pray that my project will go live successfully.

Oh by the way, did you know a limousine came to pick us up and sent us to our hotel? Yup, it was a white long limousine just like those shown in the television.

Cool eh?

I think I better go get some sleep now...  oh dear...

My games just got more exciting... MGS : PW - Recruit System

On Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker since last year October, if I remembered correctly. Last one month, I had a new feature which was in the game's home panel, called The Recruit System. However, I did not use it because I thought it requires the Internet connection in order to access certain server in order to get a range of soldiers. Hence, this feature was left untouched for a month. Then this Chinese New Year, I had Co-op play with my brother and found out, actually, how to use the Recruit System. The feature is COOL! It does not need to access any dedicated server, as long as, you switch on your PSP GO's WLAN it will be go to detect all WiFi Access Points. Then it will generate a number of available soldiers for you to recruit. Those WiFi Access Points does not require you to login to play Recruit System. As long as the game can detect Access Point then it will be able to generate random soldiers for you to recruit. Cool isn't it.

With this Recruit System, you can bring along your PSP Go anywhere to play the feature. Just open your WLAN and you can go about to play the Recruit System. Sometimes one Access Point will generate one or two soldiers for you to recruit. There are times, if the system detects more than one Access Point, you will have five or six soldiers too. For those of you who are hook on Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker, happy Recruiting and Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Note : You can only that same Access Point once every 48 hours. So go hunting for other Access Points!

Driving around...

Not much to say when it is the beginning of a new year. I had a blast of working year with so much projects to touch and to complete and that was in my previous attachment. Now, the road is less bumpy and less signboards. Though I am still on the road to where ever I am suppose to go I just found doing a lot of things does not mean you will know a lot of knowledge on most of it. Focusing on one subject takes you longer and deeper into the subject like getting lost in the city or jungle and having a tough time on your own to find the exit.

My running has slowed down though I had registered for my next run in KL, The Banero Run 2011 and I will be running as far as 10 kilometer. I guess, it is enough for the moment, and enough since my heels has yet to recover from last 21 kilometer marathon. Having said that I am more pre-occupied with my games especially Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker nowadays. I have been playing it since last year around October. So much fun and excitement I just could not miss that console even during my working hours. Anyway, I am thinking of getting an LED television and a White PS3 with a fair amount of hard drive storage that will store most of my wonderful games. Oh, not to mention some games for missus too.

Other than running, my work, and my games, I have been thinking a lot these few days especially the big question, 'Where will I be in the next 3 years?'. That question has been going round and round in my mind. Perhaps something big is going on later in my life. Who knows? ;P

Twisted Thoughts : The Preparation...

You heard someone calling your name. It was very softly and it grew louder. You were stirred from your sleep. It looked like you had a very long sleep. You opened your eyes. You felt so restful. You slowly got up from your bed. You looked around. Everything seemed so strange and white. Yes, it is white. As a matter of fact, the entire room is white! The pillow is white. The comforter is white. The floor is white. The wall is white. Your overalls is white too. The white color is so white that it glows and burning your eyes. You rub your eyes and took a deep breathed. 'Where am I?'.

Your feet touches the cold white floor as you tried to stand up. You felt like years without standing straight up. It was such a long time you hardly remember what happen. You tried to remember back what you did yesterday. You could not remember anything at all. You could not even recollect what you had before you sleep too. Everything was fussy and blurry. You looked around again. You took a few steps.

'What is your name?', a gentle motherly voice came from no where.

You looked around and there was no one in the room. Just plainly white and the white bed you woke up from. 'Who is that?', you looked to the white room. 'What is your name?', it asked you again. You gave a moment to think but you could not remember your name too. You tried so hard to remember but you could not search for a name. 'What is your name?', it asked again. 'I don't know', you looked to the white room.

'Good. Look to your right. There's a glass of water. Please, drink it', it said again.

You walked to the right. A white table emerged and a glass containing clear liquid stood on top of it. Not a big glass but a normal glass you would see everyday. You looked at the glass of clear liquid. 'What is this?', you asked. 'It's something for you to drink and start of your new day', the voice explained. You looked at it again before you decided to take a little sip. Probably one sip and if it taste bad you will decide to not drink it. As the liquid touched your tongue, you felt nice, cool and it tasted something else like milk. Except it was clear. 'What is this? This is good', you asked again. 'It is milk', the voice said. You looked at the glass of milk with disbelief. 'This is milk?', you looked to the room as though now the room is talking to you. 'Yes, now, look to your left, there will be a cupboard and a piece of cloth for you to wear', the voice said.

You walked to the left. A white cupboard appeared out from the flat wall. You opened it and found a nice piece of white garment. It was a long piece of long cloak with low collar. You wore over your current apparel. 'Now, walk to the center of the room, please', the voice said again. You did as you were told and went to the room automatically. 'Okay, please wait', the room said again. This time the room changes; the bed dissolved into the white floor, the cupboard disappears back into the white wall, and the table disappears into the white wall too. You could feel the wind blowing against your face as the room takes it shape. A white light appear in front of you. It was getting nearer and brighter. The light brighten up so fast you had to close your eyes.

After a few seconds, the wind had stopped as though you had been flown to somewhere like a teleport in some kind of science fiction story. 'Please wait', the voice said. You opened your eyes. You see another person standing in front of you. You are facing his back and there was another person standing behind you. You looked around. You saw rows of people in a long queue. You are one of them and you figured out that you are the second person in your own queue. The queue from other columns were so long that you could hardly see the end of it. Everyone wore the same garment. Everyone looked the same. You doubt you look like them too. However, they had their puzzling face and that tells you they looked worried and anxious as to what will be happening to them. You did not had to wait long.

'I am He', someone said in a booming voice.  It was not so motherly like the one before which talk to you upon your awakening.

You look to the front. It was a bright light and suddenly you hear a click sound like a switch being turned on. Every queue now has a beautiful and very fair lady standing in front of it. She might be an officer. "Begin", the huge voice said in a slow and steady voice like a competition about to start.

The officer in front attend to the first person in front of you. They were talking but you cannot hear what they were saying. The officer was smiling all the time while talking to the person. She never frowned at all. She would speak and her eyes glistened that could melt your heart. The person in front of you now walk forward into the white light behind the beautiful lady. You did not have to move to her. She smiled at you and you were brought forward by something holding your legs. It is amazing you looked around as you move towards her like someone pushing you. 'Hi, did you have a nice glass of milk?', she asked and smile at you. She was so beautiful that you could hardly speak properly. 'Did you have a nice glass of milk?', she asked again and she smiled again. 'Yes', you answered her. 'Where were you last night?', she asked you. 'I have no idea?', you told her. 'What were you doing for a living?', she asked you again. You shook your head and said, 'No idea'. She looked at her device which looked like a translucent tablet personal computer. 'That looks like an invisible iPad', you told her. Immediately she looked at you with surprise as though you were not suppose to know what she was holding. She smiled and walked nearer to you.

She was so near to you that you could smell her. It was very sweet. She looked into your eyes. So near you could kiss her. Suddenly, you saw a flash and there she was standing in front of you again. 'What am I holding?', she asked you. You looked blank at her thing in her hands, 'I don't know'. She looked at her thing again. 'Who is your wife?', she looked at you and gave you the sweetest smile. You think hard, 'No, idea'. 'Good, show me your left hand, please', she took out a tag. You showed her your left hand. She put a tag on your hand with some inscription that appear for a while and you could not see what it was written there. It is another white tag again. White. Everything is so white. "Now', she looked at you again. A white flash goes into you and you were numbed by it. It was fast though and again you regain your vision.

'You can now follow the arrow on the floor behind me and go along with it, understand?', she asked.

You nodded and walked forward. It was not a long walk before something suck and you felt into deep sleep again. It was just that. You fell asleep.

'Oh my god! He's arrived! Congratulations! Mr Braden, you have a baby boy!', the doctor who deliver the baby. The couple looked so happy. The mother was exhausted and the baby boy is crying loudly. Though the delivery room was strung with tension but it was a happy moment fro all.

Way up beyond the clouds and space. 'Candidate #1034343, has successfully born to the world to a very nice couple who will take care of him. For whatever deeds he has done in his past, this is the best we can give, my lord', said the beautiful lady.

'Okay, very good, we will see what he can do in his life. Now, next candidate, please', He said.

Work, play MGS, and eat... after my last marathon for 2010

The skies are dark and the weather is terribly wet for the past few weeks. Going out to buy food is a heavy chore since I am absolutely lazy to leave my room and put down my PSP Go (iPhone too). So it is either the all beloved Cintan Mee and 1-300-McD for lunch or dinner. Anyway, I am going down to Kuala Lumpur and Port Dickson for my Christmas and at the same time get in touch with my long old Bengali friend who lives in old Kepong. Good old Kepong. I wonder what he's up to lately.

My work is getting busier by the month and now I have to do work for 3 SD Analyst and it just reminded me of my old workplace. Very familiar, eh? Yes, it is indeed. The only difference now is no Ah Bai to bug me. ;P Since I started working at my new workplace I would always get the urge to play my PSP Go. That feeling will just come and go like a ghost. Oh, Tron is going to in Cinemas soon (19th Dec). I hope the date is correct.

I noticed there's a change in me especially after I got my iPhone 4. I would incessantly whip it out and start poking on Tap games, Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter, my RPG games, and amongst other news apps. It is crazy and I could not help it. Enter a clothing shop, I whipped out my iPhone 4. Enter a restaurant, I whipped out my damn iPhone 4. Enter a book shop, I whipped out my damn damn iPhone 4. You can say I am with my iPhone 4 from morning until night. Just before going to sleep, I look at Tap Zoo! Other than this addicted indulgence, I have my PSP Go which my mind constantly thinking how to score an S-Rank mission. Shit... Oh by the way, God of War : Ghost of Sparta is out in PSN (PlayStation Network). ;P

The other day, I ordered Salty Chicken from Pulau Tikus, in which the delivery man had it delivered to my doorstep. So the conversation was all spoken in Cantonese.

Delivery ah pek : RM27.00
Mr William : oh... ok.... ** I gave him RM50 note **

Delivery ah pek :  ** in Hokkien ** I don't have change...
Mr William : ** in Cantonese **... wait wait i go look for change for you...

Delivery ah pek : ** in Cantonese **... you are not from Penang?
Mr William : ** in Cantonese **... I am from Ipoh...

Delivery ah pek : ** in Cantonese **... oh, from Ipoh... which area...?
Mr William : ** in Cantonese **... Near Jusco...

Delivery ah pek: ** in Cantonese **... oh, that's Ipoh Garden...
Mr William : YES, you are right!

Then I told my wife about our conversation and mentioned that ah pek probably from Ipoh too. Little did I know she would say the following:

Mrs William : You didn't ask him, if he knew Snr Yau?!

Shit, that was a good one...So anybody who comes from Ipoh knows my dad... ok, i will ask this question the next time anyone in Penang says they know Ipoh Garden...

Of iPhone 4 and PSP...I am occupied!

I know I had not come in here (this blog is still alive, not dead yet) to type a few words out for a few months and my time, has been very well spent, on a few things like my iPhone 4 and my PSP Go. So my activities for the following months had been mostly as below:

At 6pm,
Mr William : ** takes out PSP Go ** ... play, play...

At 7pm,
Mr William : ** iPhone 4 beeps **... swipe... scroll... touch... swipe... scroll....

At 8pm,
Mr William : ** switch to PSP Go **... play, play...

At 9pm,
Mr William : ** iPhone 4 beeps **... swipe... scroll... touch... swipe... scroll...

At 10pm,
Mrs William : Ooi! Go mandi!
Mr William : yes... ** swipe... scroll... touch... swipe... scroll... **

At 10:30pm,
Mrs William : ** walks in to sleep **
Mr William : ** PSP Go battery lights going to orange **... play, play...

At 11pm,
Mrs William : ** close bedroom door **... ** air condition switched on **
Mr William : ** PSP Go battery dead **... Ok, time to mandi... eh, where's everyone?!

So that is what happening to me these few months. By the way, my PBIM's 21 KM coming up... shit...

To KL to eat, shit and sleep... what's more?!

Holiday season came and gone last week and my wallet's gone from fat to thin in that few days at Kuala Lumpur. Yes, I had drove my family in my City 200 km down south from our humble island, Penang, to metropolitan Kuala Lumpur. So it is all about spending and consuming during this festive season.

07:30 PM - Friday, Penang at Evergreen Hotel
Had a great buffet with my cousin who came back from Saudi. Had beef, chicken, and so on.

10:30 PM - Friday, Penang
Pack and ready to drive out of Penang. Good drive and the bridge was not as jam as the one coming in from the mainland. I laughed at them for their misery for being stuck in the jam but heck it's Hari Raya so everyone is returning to their kampung. Frankly speaking, one good thing about working and staying in Penang is that you do not get to jam during the festive when your traveling down south to Kuala Lumpur or Ipoh.

12:00 AM - Saturday, Ipoh
Reached Ipoh at midnight, reached home and fell asleep, not quite, on my bed. Amidst the king size bed and comfy pillow and bolster I can only my wife snoring who slept beside me. Oh dear, I have another drive in about 7 hours.

09:00 AM - Saturday, Ipoh
Go to Kao Lee's Dim Sum for some curry noodle? No, we had moderate filling of dim sum like siew mai, char siew pao, lor mai kai, har kao, porridge, egg tarts and some other good stuffs. Oh boy, I can tell you that this place is beginning to pack like Foh San because I can see more outstation cars. Let us all hope, this favorite restaurant our family always goes to will not become like Foh San. By the way, Mr Ooi came to Penang to eat Foh San. Hope he got a place!

10:30 AM - Enter PLUS Highway
Again the route to Kuala Lumpur is not as jam as the next lane going towards North. Hehehehe... suckers! Okay! Okay! Everyone is going back to their kampung!

01:00 PM - Lodge at Bdr. Sri Damansara
Reach our apartment, to unload, clean and get ready for another journey which is SHOPPING! We headed first to 1-Utama Shopping Mall. Oh hell! Jam! Both old wing and new wing's parking lot FULL! I nearly gave up and decided to go to Ikano but my second brother told me that I can park at the back which is an open space car park. Good! At least I found a parking space now though the walk to the mall is not that far; just a 5 minutes walk. So we started to eat and buy things. Ka-Ching! Ka-Ching! Ka-Ching! I can see my wallet thinning every moment.

06:30 PM - To La La Song... no, it's La La Chong's Seafood Restaurant
Agreed to have dinner with my Uncle Simon and Brother Hung at a seafood restaurant at Kampung Kayu Ara. So we had prawns and what else? Of course, it's their La-La! Kam Heong La-La! Slurpee and delicious. We ate and Uncle Simon cracked jokes the whole night.

10:30 PM - Back at Bdr. Sri Damansara
Lights out and sleep? No, I surfed the night, my brother played online games, my wife played her Facebook and my mom surfed her Internet. Heck! Everyone is surfing including my mom with her new notebook! Thank god my second brother installed a WiFi.

Do you know I met Ah Bai? Where? With Whom?

I met Ah Bai at 1-Utama in MPH Bookstore with a pretty young girl. They were holding hands and looked so loving and happy! Scandalous!!!!

Finally, Selamat Hari Raya!!!!
